Mass Effect 3 Crash Fix and Fixes to Errors, Freezing, Lagging, Import Saves, Poor FPS, Black screen, No Sound, Multiplayer Crash, Direct X Error

[Update #1] Mass Effect 3 Error: “Load Failed AWC.Dll Exe Loader”

Thanks to Michael Gamble of the Bioware forums for this fix. This is actually from ME2, but we found it also works for ME3 as they run on identical engines: First, please take a look at the the installer for activation.exe. It can be downloaded here:

 http://static.cdn.ea.com/bioware/u/f/eagames/bioware/masseffect2/ME2_TOOLS/activation.air

Please use following instructions on how to install it manually for users who do not have activation.exe on their machines after installing ME3:
  1. Install Adobe AIR if it’s not already installed
  2. Go to the Mass Effect 2 binaries subdirectory and see if EACore.dll and EACoreServer.exe exist. If not, find the EAAccessInstaller.exe file in your download directory, and execute it with the following parameters: EAAccessInstaller /s /dir “C:Program FilesMass Effect 3binaries” (With appropriate path to the ME3 binaries subdirectory)
  3. At this point, Adobe AIR should be installed, and EACore.dll and EACoreServer.exe should be in the ME3 binaries subdirectory.
  4. Download the activation.air file and run it.
  5. When activation.air asks you where you want to install the application, install it to the suggested location + “Electronic Arts”. For example, if the default install patch is “C:Program Files”, install it to “C:Program FilesElectronic Arts”.
  6. Launch the game
If it does not work for you, try the following remedial steps:
  1. Go to the ME2 binaries subdirectory again and open EACore_App.ini
  2. Make sure both paths to activation.exe are correct.
  3. Run EACoreServer.exe from the binaries directory, and then try launching the game again.

[Update #2] How to Fix Mass Effect 3 Direct X Internal Critical Error

    • DSETUP.dll
    • dsetup32.dll
    • DXSETUP.exe
  3. Try installing Mass Effect 3 again. Let us know if this works for you in the comments section below.

[Update #3] Cannot adjust Mass Effect 3 Resolution
